When life is overwhelming – Get a Dog

Currently life is full. I’ve never been one to say just how busy I am but let me tell you. Every ounce of my day is full. So we got a dog.

As full as my life is there is a lack of direction that I am working to overcome. Step one CREAT GOALS. Since I didn’t have any long term goals that I felt good putting into writing I have only been setting daily task goals. When I set daily tasks to accomplish I allow myself to push the task ahead to the next day if I don’t finish it. This goes on for no more than 7 days. On that seventh day it is either accomplished or removed from the list since its not a priority. Today was day 7 for writing. It was also day 7 completing an assignment. The outcome? I am writing and I withdrew from classes. There is actually a third option. Sometimes you recognize that it keeps getting pushed out because this isn’t actually the right time for you to complete the task. When this happens I select a date at least two weeks away.

Being Groundhogs Day, Sunday, and the first day I am completing all of my planned items I feel like I need to come up with real long term plans. My biggest task for tomorrow is to set goals for my Emotional Health, Relational life, Parenting, Social life, Financial, Health/Fitness, Intellectual, Career, Lifestyle, Vision, Dog Training, Personal Growth.
